- Open app.preactik.com and follow the access instructions available in the current release.
- Get the Chrome extension through the app’s preview instructions, if available to your account.
- If supplied as an unpacked preview, extract the download, open Chrome’s Extensions page, enable Developer mode, and use Load unpacked on the folder containing manifest.json. Only install a release obtained from the Preactik app.
- Refresh your Google Meet tab after installing the extension. Start with a short test session where participants agree to transcription and assistance.
- Check that the transcript is capturing the expected text, then export it before closing.
Release instructions in the app take precedence over this general guide. Preview availability is not a public-access guarantee.
Work with your transcript
Check speaker labels and important wording. The preview may miss text or label it incorrectly. Export the captured transcript before closing the meeting; full cloud saving and meeting-history search are planned.
Review the file before sharing it and follow your organization’s rules for storing meeting information.
Check common issues
I am using Zoom or Teams. Why is nothing appearing?
The current preview focuses on Google Meet in desktop Chrome. Zoom and Microsoft Teams support is coming soon.
My transcript is empty. What should I check?
Confirm you are using the current extension in a supported Google Meet session. Refresh the meeting tab after installation and check the release instructions. Some builds require native captions to be enabled. Test briefly before relying on capture.
Live Help is not answering. What should I do?
Check app sign-in, preview availability, and any message about usage limits. Transcription and AI assistance are separate; do not assume that a working transcript means the hosted AI feature is available.
Where are my old meetings?
Full transcript cloud saving and a searchable meeting library are planned. If you did not export the transcript, do not assume the completed session can be recovered.
Where can I check an outage?
The System Status page currently explains monitoring availability. It is not connected to live service checks and cannot confirm whether an outage is in progress.
